How to Use an Everyday Lighter

Step 1:

Curl your fingers around the body of the lighter, and place the edge of your thumb on the ignition button so that it is touching the metal sparkwheel. 

Step 2:

Roll the metal spark wheel down into the ignition button. Apply some force to the wheel as you push it downward, turning the sparkwheel in one, decisive motion. 

Step 3:

Hold the ignition button to keep the flame going. As soon as you release the button, the flame will cease.
